Elvis Mozart and Me Trailer
TERRY, a retired lawyer, pitches his wife Marlene to invest in a movie to be called “Elvis Mozart and Me” about an impersonation show he did with a gay female impersonator (BILLIE JEAN). The conversation turns to a new book by SHIRLEY MACWHINER called Channeling Kindred Spirits. He poses that some spirits might not want people they disliked on earth channeling them. That night they go to sleep talking about it when credits roll over a song called “YOU WANNA MOVE LIKE ELVIS.”
The action switches to a meeting of spirits in space where The ANTI CHANNELING COMMITTEE, decides to send a spirit to earth to sabotage the making of the film fearing it will popularize channeling. Meanwhile, Terry accidently channels ANTONIO SALIERI while listening to a MOZART recording. Salieri, Shirley MacWhiner and Billie Jean (who died of Aids during rehearsals) all return to earth to deal with the issues raised: Terry’s learning to move like Elvis, Salieri’s jealousy of Mozart, Billie Jean’s gay insecurities and Shirley MacWhiner’s falling in love with Salieri. When the movie is sabotaged, Marlene drives to church to ask GOD, a black female, for help, while a DJ plays a song for “ageing men who want to impersonate white suit Elvis : ..ROUND HOUSE THE ARM..
